What’s next?Getting my Master’s in Wildlife Sciences from the University of of GeorgiaHow did UNC Asheville help you get to your next steps?Something that I think was really pivotal in being accepted into the master's program was the fact I was able to do a lot of undergraduate research. I was able to bring in a lot of skills that not all people trying to get a master's have. At a large university, I don't think I’d have that ability to do research throughout undergrad, which I was able to do at all four years here. After talking with the faculty mentor that I'm going to be working with at the University of Georgia, he’s confident that I'll be able to hit the ground running, which is what the project I'm doing requires. What will you miss most about UNC Asheville? There's a lot of things. One of the reasons that I chose UNC Asheville was because I grew up here in Appalachia, only an hour west of here. And I love the region, the life, and just everything about the place that we're so lucky to live in.So definitely I'm going to miss that, but also, I'm going to miss the professors because they've all been so wonderful. I'm going to miss being able to just go into some of their offices and say, “I saw this cool science thing on the news! You want to talk about it?” Or asking them for advice on things. I've made a really awesome friend group here as well.
